THE STARTER REPORTED:
a) SEA VISTA (*S Hlengwa) was stubborn to load.
b) SIRNIHAALLONGSWORD (T Gumede) was restless in the stalls.
c) SAKA GOLD (M Yeni) kicked the back gates.
d) GIMME A DREAM (*M K Katjedi) and FLYING WONDER (C F Dicken) lost 1 length.
e) MOON HARVEST (S Moodley) and SHOT OF COURAGE (M Mjoka) lost 2 lengths.
THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED :
a) SHOT OF COURAGE (M Mjoka) over-raced in the early stages.
b) At the 150m, ROY'S JULY MAGIC (K Matsunyane) improved onto and was eased momentarily off the heels of SIRNIHAALLONGSWORD (T Gumede) which was hanging out, shifted out sharply away from the crop and was corrected. Thereafter, TIGER IN RED (W Marwing) was inconvenienced on the outside of SIRNIHAALLONGSWORD (T Gumede).
c) In the concluding stages, a tiring SIRNIHAALLONGSWORD (T Gumede) was inconvenienced on the outside of ROY'S JULY MAGIC (K Matsunyane) which was hanging out, shifted out away from the crop and was corrected.
d) Jockeys T Gumede (SIRNIHAALLONGSWORD) and K Matsunyane (ROY'S JULY MAGIC) appeared before the Board with regard to the above two incidents and were advised to take more decisive measures to correct their mounts when shifting ground in races in future.
e) ROY'S JULY MAGIC (K Matsunyane), joint winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer K Naidoo advised (NS).
f) FLYING WONDER (C F Dicken), unplaced, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer G Puller advised (TL).
JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES :
a) SAKA GOLD raced equipped with cheek pieces (advised 04.01.23/07h48).
b) Jockey M Mjoka (SHOT OF COURAGE) weighed out at 53.2kg, 0.5kg over the carded weight.
RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER :
a) SEA VISTA : The colours should read : Royal blue and white halved diagonally, royal blue sleeves and cap.
THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED :
a) GIMME A DREAM : Mouth injury.
b) SIRNIHAALLONGSWORD : Not striding out left front.
c) MOON HARVEST : Coughing.
d) FLYING WONDER : Lame right front. Vet certificate required prior to racing. Trainer G Puller advised (TL).
e) TIGER IN RED : Returned post-race having cast the left front shoe.
