THE STARTER REPORTED: a) GRAPPLER (K Matsunyane) reared in the stalls as the start was effected and lost 3 lengths. Trainer K Naidoo was advised to re-school this gelding (SN). THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) A race review was called into the start of this Race with regard to GRAPPLER (K Matsunyane). After reviewing the video evidence the Board determined that this gelding reared as the start was effected, resulting in the handler being marginally slow to release this gelding. Given that this was the result of GRAPPLER'S own actions, no further action was taken. b) BEECHAMWOOD BOY (A Mgudlwa) was switched to the inside of JUSTAGUYTHING (K de Melo) shortly before the finish. c) In view of the performance of GRAPPLER (K Matsunyane) (12.10 lengths, 10/1 in the betting), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. d) JUSTAGUYTHING (K de Melo), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
