THE STARTER REPORTED: a) A Fair start. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) Approaching the 1200m, MVULAZANA (K Matsunyane) was inconvenienced on the inside of CHELSEA FLOWER (S Moodley) which rolled in. b) ANGEL'S WISH (W Marwing) was hanging in, in the straight. c) Jockey K de Melo signed an admission of guilt for a contravention of Rule 58.10.2 read in conjunction M, in that he mis-used his crop by striking the horse LADY MACBETH more than 12 times in the entire race. In assessing penalty, the Board considered the number of times (14) Jockey K de Melo struck the horse LADY MACBETH, the distance over which and manner in which he used his crop and his record (0) in relation to this Rule. Accordingly, a penalty of a fine of R750 was imposed. d) ZINIKELE (A Mgudlwa), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
