THE STARTER REPORTED: a) HONEY LAND (S Khathi) was stubborn loading. b) RED CENTRE (Y Ramzan) was stubborn loading and nervous in the stalls. c) KILMONIVAIG (R Munger) was nervous in the stalls, taken out, examined by the course veterinary surgeon, passed suitable to race and reloaded, causing a delay. d) QUEEN'S GAMBIT (JP van der Merwe) jumped slow, losing one length. e) LADY CHARTOUCHE (R Fourie) and POMODORO MAGIC (*J Solomons) were slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) LITTLE MISS KJ (D de Gouveia) proved difficult leaving the parade ring and proceeding to the start. Trainer SB Kotzen was advised that should this filly behave in a similar manner in future engagements, she may be suspended. b) CHELSEA GARDEN dislodged Jockey S Khumalo during the parade without incident. c) ALL I NEED IS YOU (T Gould) went amiss leaving the 200m and was immediately eased out of the race. The veterinary surgeon was requested to examine this filly. d) Leaving the 50m TIDE IS HIGH (L Mxothwa), which rolled out slightly, was bumped heavily by CHELSEA GARDEN (S Khumalo), which shifted in away from the crop and was immediately straightened. During this incident, both horses became unbalanced. A member of the Stipendiary Board called for a race review which was followed by an Objection being lodged by Trainer K Mitchley, on behalf of the 2nd placed horse TIDE IS HIGH against the winner CHELSEA GARDEN (S Khumalo) on the grounds of interference leaving the 50m. The Objection Board, after giving due regard to the evidence put forward, reviewing the patrol films and giving consideration to where this incident took place and the margin of 0,25 of a length between the two horses concerned, was of the opinion that while the interference suffered by TIDE IS HIGH was significant, CHELSEA GARDEN was finishing her race off strongly and therefore could not be convinced that TIDE IS HIGH would have finished ahead of CHELSEA GARDEN and overruled the objection. Trainer K Mitchley's deposit was refunded. e) Jockeys S Khathi and R Fourie reported that HONEY LAND and LADY CHARTOUCHE respectively did not stride out freely in running. The veterinary surgeon was requested to examine these fillies. f) CHELSEA GARDEN, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer GD Smith was advised.
