THE STARTER REPORTED: a) JUST POWER (D de Gouveia) refused to load and was withdrawn, causing a delay. The Starting Stall Certificate for this filly has been withdrawn. b) STATE OF MIND (M Mjoka) was stubborn loading and jumped awkwardly. c) SARAJEVO (C Maujean) fly-jumped awkwardly outwards leaving the stalls and made contact with MISS MILLSTREAM (JP van der Merwe). d) DIVINE DYNASTY (R Fourie), GLOBAL GODDESS (S Khumalo) and TARTAN DANCER (J Mphanya) were slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Jockey JP van der Merwe reported that MISS MILLSTREAM, which gave ground to the field quickly from the 900m, choked up in running and he did not persevere with his riding from the 400m. The veterinary surgeon was requested to examine this mare. b) Jockey R Fourie reported that DIVINE DYNASTY took no interest in running. The veterinary surgeon was requested to examine this filly. c) Jockey D Ashby reported that MADAME PATRICE did not stride out freely in running. The veterinary surgeon was requested to examine this mare. d) In view of the report from the starter regarding JUST POWER (D de Gouveia), this filly's starting stall certificate has been withdrawn and she is suspended for 7 days in terms of Rule 61.6.10 and until such time as she proves to be tractable to load with a companion. Suspension dates: 07/01/2023 to 13/01/2023 inclusive). JUST POWER may not be presented for re-passing during this period. e) SARAJEVO, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer JH van Heerden was advised.
