THE STARTER REPORTED: a) RATTLE BAG (R Munger) jumped outwards leaving the stalls. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED a) As the start was effected, TILLIEANGUS (J Greyling) was squeezed out between BACK TO BASICS (N Klink) and RATTLE BAG (R Munger), which jumped outwards leaving the stalls. b) Shortly after the start, DEFENDER OF RIGHTS (R Simons) and TREATY (*M K Katjedi) had to steady momentarily when awkwardly placed between WRITTEN IN STONE (*D B Geerthsen) and PINCH HIT (G Lerena), which was carried in by METEORIC (G Pieterse), which rolled in. c) PINCH HIT (G Lerena), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer F Bronkhorst advised (MS). JOCKEY CHANGES: None. RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER: a) GREAT TIMES raced without blinkers (declared 5 January 2023 at 17H12).
