THE STARTER REPORTED: a) Fair break. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Jockey N Takawira was charged with a contravention of Rule 58.10.2 (read with Guideline M on the use of the crop) in that he misused his crop by striking MASAAKEN (AUS) more than twelve times in the entire race. Jockey Takawira signed an Admission of Guilt and was fined $60. In assessing penalty, the Stewards considered that MASAAKEN (AUS) had won the race. b) TIGERS EAGLE (R Satombo) weakened suddenly in the closing stages. The Course Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. c) Jockey K Derere was charged with a contravention of Rule 58.10.2 (read with Guideline M on the use of the crop) in that he misused his crop by striking DIFFERENTIATE more than twelve times in the entire race. Jockey Derere signed an Admission of Guilt and was fined $50. d) MASAAKEN (AUS) the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer D Swanson advised (AJ). JOCKEY AND/OR EQUIPMENT CHANGES: a) MASAAKEN (AUS) (N Takawira) raced equipped with blinkers. b) 0DIFFERENTIATE (K Derere) raced without alumites and equipped with steel shoes. RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER: a) Nil. THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED: a) TIGERS EAGLE examined post race, nothing untoward was found. THERE WERE NO SCRATCHINGS: a) Nil.
