THE STARTER REPORTED: a) THE NAVY LARK (M Thackeray) jumped inwards leaving the stalls. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) ANNEWITHAN E (Wes Marwing) stumbled badly shortly after the start and, as a consequence, lost momentum, giving ground to the field. ANNEWITHAN E, unable to make up the deficit, raced detached from the field throughout. In view of this performance, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. b) Jockey J Greyling reported that he felt something amiss with DIVINE MOONLIGHT in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. d) Trainer W C Marwing was charged with a contravention of Rule 38.4 in that he failed to update the passport of the horse ANNEWITHAN E with respect to Equine Influenza. Trainer W C Marwing signed an Admission of Guilt and was fined R1000. c) ICE STAR (C Maujean), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer F P Habib advised (MS). JOCKEY CHANGES: None.
