THE STARTER REPORTED: a) QUIXOTE (K de Melo) jumped awkwardly inwards leaving the stalls. b) JET DYNASTY (C Habib) and HAYLEY'S PROMISE (R Munger) were slow losing one length. c) BIG DREAMER (J Greyling) was slow losing three lengths. Stable Employee F Naude, acting on behalf of Trainer C Spies, was advised to reschool this gelding prior to his next engagement (GT). d) LONDON PALADIUM (M van Rensburg) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) QUIXOTE (K de Melo) jumped awkwardly inwards leaving the stalls making contact with the right-side front gate. b) POWERS THAT BE (*K A Brewer) and HAYLEY'S PROMISE (R Munger) hung out from the 300m. c) RAPTOR ISLAND (G Pieterse) shifted in away from the crop from the 150m. d) The saddle on TOGETHER AGAIN (C Maujean) slipped back in running. This was confirmed by the Stipendiary Board. e) Jockey K de Melo reported that he felt something amiss with QUIXOTE in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. f) SILVANO'S SONG (K Matsunyane), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer S T Pettigrew advised (MS).
