THE STARTER REPORTED: a) LUCRETIUS (*M Katjedi) stood losing 6 lengths. b) HAVE A GO JO (S Moodley) lost 2 lengths. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) Apprentice M Katjedi (LUCRETIUS) was granted permission not to parade in front of the grandstand due to a delay in securing a lead horse to accompany this gelding to the start. b) Jockey M V'Rensburg (GUISEPPI'S SONG) accidentally dropped his crop at the 300m. c) AMERICAN DREAM (A Arries) was hanging out and raced wide around the turn. d) VIHAAN'S GREY (K Matsunyane) was hanging out in the concluding stages. e) Jockey S Moodley reported that HAVE A GO JO did not stride out freely in the running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. f) In view of the performance of TIN CUP (R Khathi) (13.10 lengths, 16/1 in the betting) the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. g) In view of the Starter's report with regard to LUCRETIUS (*M Katjedi), this gelding's starting stall certificate is withdrawn and it is suspended in terms of Rule 61.6.10 for a period of 7 days and until such time as it proves tractable with a companion. Suspension dates: 19.01.23 to the 25.01.23. LUCRETIUS may not be presented for re-passing during this period. Trainer L Hewitson was advised.
