THE STARTER REPORTED: a) SHIVERS (C Maujean) jumped inwards leaving the stalls. b) CRIMSON PRINCESS (J Mariba) and PATON'S TEARS (M van Rensburg) were slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) VANDERBILT (*S Sosibo) jumped awkwardly inwards leaving the stalls making contact with the right-side front gate. b) At approximately the 1200m, BLOOMINGTON (*D B Geerthsen) took an awkward stride. c) Jockey C Maujean reported that SHIVERS changed stride continually in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this mare. d) Jockey M Yeni reported that SUDDEN STAR did not stride out freely in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. e) CABINET SHUFFLE (G Pieterse), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer R Klaasen advised (LK).
