THE STARTER REPORTED: a) CAPTAIN MORNE (L Mxothwa) rushed the front gate of the starting stalls. b) PERONZADA (K Minnie) kicked the back gates in the starting stalls and thereafter, was slow into stride. c) GOOM GOOM (S Khumalo), JANNEMAN (S Khathi), JUST FOREVER (C Maujean) and GONDOLA KING (D de Gouveia) were slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Leaving the 400m GREEK MAFIA (E Webber) and JACKSON MISISSIPPI (R Fourie) brushed and became unbalanced when carried inwards by IL COMBATTENTE (X Ndlovu). b) Jockey D de Gouveia reported that GONDOLA KING made an abnormal respiratory noise in running. The veterinary surgeon was requested to examine this colt. c) Jockey S Khathi reported that JANNEMAN took no interest in running. The veterinary surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. d) Jockey J Mphanya reported that CONNECTION did not stride out freely in running.
