THE STARTER REPORTED: a) BE HOPEFUL (K Minnie) was stubborn loading, nervous in the stalls and jumped slow, losing two lengths. b) ANTONIA AUGUSTA (D de Gouveia) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) ANTONIA AUGUSTA (D de Gouveia) refused to settle in the early and middle stages. b) BE HOPEFUL (K Minnie), which was hanging out, took an awkward stride leaving the 200m and again at the 150m. The veterinary surgeon was requested to examine this filly. c) Jockey L Mxothwa briefly dropped his left-side rein at the 150m. d) Jockey R Munger reported that ST PATRICK'S DAY did not stride out freely in running and he did not persevere with his riding from the 150m. The veterinary surgeon was requested to examine this mare. e) In view of the report from the Starter regarding BE HOPEFUL (K Minnie), Trainer AC Greeff will be advised to have this filly re-schooled before her next engagement in terms of Rule 61.6.10. f) LADY WRITER, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
