THE STARTER REPORTED: a) FRANCA (R Fourie) was stubborn loading. b) SOUND CHECK (T Gould) was stubborn loading and thereafter was slow into stride. c) RAPID FIRE (K Steyn) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) At the 150m CIVIL RIGHTS (JP van der Merwe) shifted out away from the crop and had to be straightened. b) Jockey R Fourie reported that he felt something amiss with FRANCA. The veterinary surgeon was requested to examine this filly. c) Jockey K de Melo reported that GILLIAN ANNE did not stride out freely in running and he did not persevere with his riding from the 150m. The veterinary surgeon was requested to examine this mare. d) STOLEN KISS, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
