BATTLE CREEK was slow into stride. SNOW IN SEATTLE jumped outwards leaving the stalls. CHAINSAW took an awkward stride at the 200m. When afforded the opportunity to explain the improved performance of CHAINSAW, Trainer Lerena explained to the Board that it was his opinion that this gelding is best suited to straight races at the Vaal racecourse and to sprinting distances. He has undertaken, where possible, to race CHAINSAW over a similar course and distance going forward. After the poor performance from LITHUANIAN'S DREAM, this gelding's runs will be monitored going forward. Apprentice Schwarz reported that ALEX THE GREAT changed strides continually in running. Apprentice Gates reported that PEARL OF SIBERIA did not stride out freely in running. BATTLE CREEK was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Vet: ALEX THE GREAT - examined post-race, nothing obvious detected. LITHUANIAN'S DREAM - mouth injury. PEARL OF SIBERIA - not striding out left front.
