THE STARTER REPORTED: a) APPLE CATCHER (S Veale) jumped awkwardly inwards and made contact with the front gate leaving the stalls, losing one length. b) AMETHYSTIC (P Strydom) jumped inwards. c) HEAD GIRL (G van Niekerk) and JAZZ DIVA (R Fourie) were slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) CALIFORNIA DREAMIN (JP van der Merwe) raced awkwardly in the early stages and was hanging out throughout. b) HEAD GIRL (G van Niekerk) was steadied away from the heels of CALIFORNIA DREAMIN (JP van der Merwe) at the 900m. c) Jockey R Fourie (JAZZ DIVA) briefly dropped his right-side rein leaving the 400m. d) At the 250m HUNDREDFIFTHAVENUE (L Mxothwa), which was hanging in, was momentarily inconvenienced when close to the heels of JAZZ DIVA (R Fourie). e) Jockey L Mxothwa was charged with a contravention of Rule 57.5.1 in that he failed to report to the Clerk of Scales at least 60 minutes before the official starting time of the first (1st) race in which he was engaged to ride. Jockey L Mxothwa signed an Admission of Guilt and was fined R500,00. f) HIERKOMMIEBOKKIE, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer M Rix was advised.
