THE STARTER REPORTED: a) As the start was effected, MAX THE MAGICIAN (M Yeni) and COURAGEOUS (*M K Katjedi) came together and bumped. b) Shortly after the start, CIRCLE OF GRACE (S Khumalo) was bumped out by HEIRLOOM (R Simons), which jumped outwards leaving the stalls. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Jockey G Lerena reported that ANAMERICANINVENICE made an abnormal respiratory noise in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. b) Jockey S Khumalo reported that CIRCLE OF GRACE took no interest in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. c) Jockey R Simons reported that HEIRLOOM made an abnormal respiratory noise in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. d) TROPPO VELOCE (R Munger), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer A B Fortune advised (MS).
