THE STARTER REPORTED: a) BIG CITY GIRL (*M K Katjedi) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Jockey M Yeni reported that BARMAID coughed in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. b) Apprentice M K Katjedi was charged with a contravention of Rule 58.10.2 (read with Guideline M on the use of the crop) in that he misused his crop by striking BIG CITY GIRL more than twelve times in the entire race. Apprentice M K Katjedi signed an Admission of Guilt and a fine of R750 was imposed. When assessing this penalty, the Board took into consideration the number of times the crop was used (13) and Apprentice M K Katjedi's recent record with regard to this Rule and Guideline (1). c) ENGLISH PRIMROSE (D Schwarz), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
