THE STARTER REPORTED: a) RESPECTABLE MISS (K Minnie) was stubborn loading. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Shortly after the start, GOLIGHTLY (R Fourie) raced in restricted galloping room between MASTERS QUEEN (C Maujean) and OPERA SWING (JR Syster), both of which shifted ground marginally. b) Approaching the 400m AERIAL VIEW (S Khumalo), which was hanging in, shifted in and became awkwardly placed close to the heels of MASTERS QUEEN (C Maujean). As a consequence, AERIAL VIEW (S Khumalo) had to be steadied and shifted inwards to continue its run c) At the 300m a tiring MASTERS QUEEN (C Maujean) had to be steadied momentarily when close to the heels of IDEAL ANGEL (L Mxothwa), which shifted out. Jockey L Mxothwa appeared before the Board, was shown the race replay and advised to exercise more care when his mounts are shifting ground in similar circumstances. d) IDEAL ANGEL, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
