THE STARTER REPORTED: a) ZEUS (G Lerena) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Jockey S Khumalo did not persevere with his riding from the 400m. Thereafter he reported that IMPERIAL RUBY made an abnormal respiratory noise in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. b) IMPERIAL MASTER (*P Mxoli) shifted in away from the crop from the 200m, thereafter at approximately the 100m, Apprentice Mxoli briefly dropped his right side rein. c) SHANGANI (K de Melo), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
