THE STARTER REPORTED: a) FALLO ANCORA (R Fourie) and AUGUSTA BLUE (A Domeyer) jumped slow, losing one length and thereafter were slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) RUN AWAY FIRE (JP van der Merwe), which raced wide without cover in the early and middle stages, commenced to give ground to the field from the 300m and was not persevered with from the 200m. The veterinary surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. b) DOWNING SEVEN (K de Melo) was hanging out in the latter stages. c) Trainer M Rix was charged with a contravention of Rule 8.3.1 in that she failed to have available the registered colours of the owner/s of the horse RUN AWAY FIRE. Trainer M Rix signed an Admission of Guilt and was given the penalty of a warning. d) AUGUSTA BLUE, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer AN Marcus was advised.
