THE STARTER REPORTED: a) ISN'T SHE BONNY (*R A Venniker) was stubborn to load. Trainer ML Roberts was advised to re-school this filly (SN). THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) KYNISKA (C F Dicken) stumbled badly leaving the starting stalls. b) At approximately the 200m, COUNTY KILDARE (A Mgudlwa) had to ease losing momentum and position when awkwardly placed between ISN'T SHE BONNY (*R A Venniker) which was hanging in badly, proving difficult to assist and shifted in, and LOTS OF MAGIC (*S Hlengwa). Shortly thereafter, LOTS OF MAGIC (*S Hlengwa) was brushed in by ISNT SHE BONNY (*R A Venniker) which continued to hang in. At the 150m, LOTS OF MAGIC (*S Hlengwa) shifted out marginally away from the crop. A race review was called into this incident, which was followed by an objection being lodged by a member of the Stipendiary Board on behalf of COUNTY KILDARE (A Mgudlwa), placed fourth and LOTS OF MAGIC (*S Hlengwa), placed third against the second placed horse, ISN'T SHE BONNY (*R Venniker) on the grounds of interference from the 200m. After considering the evidence in this matter, the Board upheld the objection. In arriving at this decision, the Board considered the distances between these horses at the finish and degree of the interference between ISN'T SHE BONNY (*R Venniker), COUNTY KILDARE (A Mgudlwa) and LOTS OF MAGIC (*S Hlengwa). Consequently, the Board was satisfied that but for the above incident, COUNTY KILDARE (A Mgudlwa) and LOTS OF MAGIC (*S Hlengwa) would have finished ahead of ISN'T SHE BONNY (*R Venniker). Therefore, the objection was upheld and the Judge's result amended. c) KYNISKA (C F Dicken) was hanging out from the 250m. d) FRENCH PRINCESS (S Veale), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
