THE STARTER REPORTED: a) SPACE EXPLORER (K de Melo) was stubborn loading. b) BELLE'S FIRST WAVE (R Munger) and JACK IN THE BOX (D Ashby) were slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) The start of this race was delayed due to the delay in the previous. b) SPACE EXPLORER (K de Melo) was hanging in from the 300m. c) The saddle on POPPING CREASE (L Mxothwa) slipped back in running. This was confirmed by a Stipendiary Steward. d) Jockey D Ashby reported that JACK IN THE BOX did not stride out freely in running. The veterinary surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. e) MEDLERS TART, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
