THE STARTER REPORTED: a) STRANGE MAGIC (K de Melo) jumped awkwardly leaving the stalls. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Jockey J P van der Merwe eased LETHA out of the race at the 300m, Thereafter, Jockey J P van der Merwe reported that he felt something amiss with this filly in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. Trainer A Azzie was requested to report back to the Stipendiary Board on the condition of LETHA on return to stables b) KWAZZI'S LADY (*M K Katjedi) shifted both ways away from the crop from the 400m. c) Apprentice S Sosibo reported that MEMORIAL DAY did not stride out freely in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. d) Jockey C Maujean reported that SUPER SECRET took no interest in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. e) LITTLEMARYSUNSHINE (K Matsunyane), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
