THE STARTER REPORTED: a) GRAZINGINTHEGRASS (R Fourie) and MAGNUM FIRE (R Munger) were slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) PEACE IN OUR WORLD (JP van der Merwe) raced without cover in the early and middle stages and as a consequence, proved difficult to settle. b) Apprentice P Mxoli reported that JACOB'S LADDER did not stride out freely in running. The veterinary surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. c) In view of the performance of IDEAL ANGEL (L Mxothwa) (Betting 33/10 ; Distance 7.25 lengths) the veterinary surgeon was requested to examine this mare. d) GRAZINGINTHEGRASS, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
