THE STARTER REPORTED: a) FRANCA (S Khathi) was stubborn loading and thereafter slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) The start of this race was delayed due to the thirty-minute interval between races 5 and 6. b) At the 400m a tiring SACRED LOTUS (JP van der Merwe) was carried outwards by PACIFIC GREEN (R Fourie), which was directed outwards and into clear running. c) Jockey S Khathi reported that FRANCA did not stride out freely in running. The veterinary surgeon was requested to examine this filly. d) Jockey K de Melo reported that he felt something amiss with MISS NIBBLES. The veterinary surgeon was requested to examine this filly. e) RED BERRY, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer AC Greeff was advised.
