THE STARTER REPORTED: a) MISS SHAIVI (K Matsunyane) jumped inwards leaving the stalls. b) RED HOT ROSE (R Fourie) and SHILPA'S MOON (J P van der Merwe) were slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) DIVINE MOONLIGHT (P Strydom) hung in from the 300m. b) CRIMSON CLOUD (L Mxothwa), FLIGHTY HERON (*D B Geerthsen) and PERINI PALACE (D Schwarz) commenced to give ground to the field from the 200m. c) Jockey C Zackey reported that MOUNT ETNA took no interest in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. d) Jockey G Lerena reported that STORMY CHOICE made an abnormal respiratory noise in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. e) RANI OF KITTUR (M van Rensburg), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer R R Magner advised (LK). JOCKEY CHANGES: None. RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER: a) SI VELOCE raced with club colours (black with a blue cap). Trainer P F Matchett was charged with a contravention of Rule 8.3.1 in that he did not have available the registered colours of the owner/s of the horse SI VELOCE. Trainer P F Matchett signed an Admission of Guilt and a fine of R500.00 was imposed. THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED: a) MOUNT ETNA examined post race, nothing obvious detected. b) STORMY CHOICE blowing post race. c) SI VELOCE mouth injury. d) ARCTIC FLAG fatigued. THERE WERE NO SCRATCHINGS. DISQUALIFIED / DECLARED NON-RUNNER: None.
