THE STARTER REPORTED: a) JET DYNASTY (G Lerena) and DESERT FOX (J P van der Merwe) were slow losing one length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) BIG FIVE (S Khumalo) proved reluctant to proceed to the start and had to be led by a Handler. Trainer J S Roux was advised that should this gelding behave in a similar manner in future, it may be suspended. b) Jockey J Penny, the rider of LE FORT BION, briefly dropped his right-side rein whilst attempting to change crop hands at the 300m. c) In view of the Veterinary Surgeon's report concerning LE FORT BION, and in terms of Rule 93.1, this gelding is suspended for 60 days from racing in any race under the jurisdiction of the National Horseracing Authority. Trainer C I Jonker was advised. d) JET DYNASTY (G Lerena), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer S G Tarry advised (MS).
