THE STARTER REPORTED: a) A fair start. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) WORD FOR WORD (S Veale) was hanging out from the 400m to the 200m. b) Approaching the 150m, HATTA (*R A Venniker) was switched in to obtain a clear run. c) MISS LIALAH (S Moodley) was hanging in, in the concluding stages. d) Jockey R Khathi reported that he felt something amiss with AGRESSIVO in the running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. e) Trainer P V Lafferty appeared before the Board and was questioned with regard to the improved performance of IMMEASURABLE (*M K Katjedi) compared to this gelding's previous runs. Trainer Lafferty could offer no suitable explanation for the improvement shown. His attention was drawn to the Rules pertaining to in and out running. f) IMMEASURABLE (*M K Katjedi), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
