THE STARTER REPORTED: a) TURNTHEBEATAROUND (N Klink) refused to load. The starting stall certificate for this filly has been withdrawn. Assistant Trainer A Ndzilana, acting on behalf of Trainer M F de Kock, was advised (JB). b) SPRING OF ELIXIR (*S Sosibo) jumped inwards leaving the stalls. c) MAITH AN CAILIN (C Maujean) was slow losing three lengths. Trainer R Klaasen was advised to reschool this filly prior to her next engagement (GT). THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) DUSKY ROSE (D Schwarz) was eased out of the race at the 800m. Thereafter, Jockey D Schwarz reported that DUSKY ROSE choked up in the running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. b) At approximately the 200m, A TOUCH OF SUGAR (R Munger) was steadied momentarily in anticipation of being awkwardly placed between WILD FOREVER (*M K Katjedi) and BROADLANDS (G Lerena). c) Jockey G Lerena reported that BROADLANDS choked up in the running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. d) Jockey C Zackey reported that he felt something amiss with MISS CHRISTMAS in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. e) In view of the Starter's report with regard to TURNTHEBEATAROUND, this filly's starting stall certificate has been withdrawn and she is suspended in terms of Rule 61.6.10 for a period of 7 days and until such time as she proves tractable loading with a companion. Suspension dates: 10 March 2023 to 16 March 2023. TURNTHEBEATAROUND may not be presented for re-passing during this period. Assistant Trainer A Ndzilana, acting on behalf of Trainer M F de Kock, was advised. f) WILD FOREVER (*M K Katjedi), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
