THE STARTER REPORTED: a) ALADO'S PRIDE (G Lerena) kicked the back gates in the starting stalls, was taken out, examined by the course veterinary surgeon, passed suitable to race and reloaded, causing a delay. b) HONEST QUEST (R Fourie) and SILVER STARDUST (T Gould) were nervous in the stalls. c) IZHIESTIA (R Munger) jumped awkwardly, losing one length. d) DALEEL (D Schwarz) jumped outwards. e) SUGAR SNAP (S Khathi) jumped slow, losing one length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) CHERRY ANO (S Khumalo) was momentarily unbalanced when brushed on the hindquarters by ALADO'S PRIDE (G Lerena) leaving the stalls. b) SILVER STARDUST (T Gould) over raced in the early stages. c) Jockey JP van der Merwe reported that YOUNG NELSON did not stride out freely in running and he did not persevere with his riding from the 200m. The veterinary surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. d) Jockey G Lerena reported that ALADO'S PRIDE did not stride out freely in running. The veterinary surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. e) Jockey S Khathi reported that SUGAR SNAP did not stride out freely in running. The veterinary surgeon was requested to examine this filly. f) CHERRY ANO, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer GD Smith was advised.
