THE STARTER REPORTED: a) EDEN ROC (*P Mxoli) and DANILO DANILOVITCH (*R A Venniker) were slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Leaving the 700m, THUNDERSTRUCK (C Zackey) was carried in marginally by DANILO DANILOVITCH (*R A Venniker), which was directed inwards to avoid running onto the heels of TAIKONAUT (M van Rensburg). b) Leaving the 200m, DANILO DANILOVITCH (*R A Venniker) was bumped on two occasions whilst racing in restricted galloping room between THUNDERSTRUCK (C Zackey), which shifted out away from the crop, and BON VIVANT (K de Melo), which commenced to hang in. c) Jockey G Lerena reported that PRINCE OF FIRE did not stride out freely in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. d) Jockey J P van der Merwe reported that BIG BURN did not stride out freely in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. e) In view of the performance of PROPHET (R Munger), (distance 14,00 lengths, betting 16/1), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. f) PRINCESS CALLA (R Fourie), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED: a) PRINCE OF FIRE examined post race, nothing obvious detected. b) BIG BURN fatigued. c) PROPHET coughing post race. d) SUPREME WARRIOR abnormal respiratory noise. e) DANILO DANILOVITCH abnormal respiratory noise. THERE WERE NO SCRATCHINGS. DISQUALIFIED / DECLARED NON-RUNNER: None.
