THE STARTER REPORTED: a) JUSTFORTHEEPENNY (C Maujean) stood losing 4 lengths. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) RAVENS SWORD (K Matsunyane) was hanging out throughout. b) In view of the performance of AFROPOLITAN (A Mgudlwa) (5.55 lengths, 4/1 in the betting), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. c) Jockey A Arries signed an admission of guilt for a contravention of Rule 58.10.2, (guideline M), in that he mis-used his crop by striking the horse BRAVE VOYAGER more than 12 times in the entire race. In assessing penalty, the Board considered the number of times (13) Jockey A Arries struck the horse BRAVE VOYAGER, and his record (1) in relation to this Rule. Accordingly, a penalty of a fine of R750 was imposed. d) In view of the Starter's report with regard to JUSTFORTHEEPENNY (C Maujean), this gelding's starting stall certificate is withdrawn and it is suspended in terms of Rule 61.6.10 for a period of 7 days and until such time as it proves tractable with a companion. Suspension dates: 14.03.19 to the 20.03.23 (bdi). JUSTFORTHEEPENNY may not be presented for re-passing during this period.
