THE STARTER REPORTED: a) HAT'S PRIDE (A Arries) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) DONNY TEE jumped awkwardly and then shifted in sharply, resulting in Jockey J Jacobs' saddle slipping sideways. As a consequence, Jockey J Jacobs became severely unbalanced and was dislodged. Thereafter, at the 300m, the lead bag on DONNY TEE (J Jacobs) became detached. b) Entering the first turn, at the 1100m, APPROACH SHOT (G van Niekerk) and HLUHLUWE (JP van der Merwe) were taken out wide on the track by the loose horse, DONNY TEE and thereafter, were inconvenienced for some distance until entering the straight. c) Jockey C Zackey reported that SIGNIFIER made an abnormal respiratory noise in running. The veterinary surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. d) Jockey R Fourie reported that SNOW PILOT changed stride continually in running. The veterinary surgeon was requested to examine this colt. e) GALLIC DREAM, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer AE Sands was advised.
