THE STARTER REPORTED: a) ROSE WILLOW (C Maujean) refused to jump losing many lengths. The starting stall certificate for this mare has been withdrawn. Trainer J A Visser was advised (GT). THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Jockey S Khumalo reported that he felt something amiss with LIDL MISS SUNSHINE in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. b) In view of the performance of CALL THE WIND (D Schwarz), (distance 6,00 lengths, betting 9/4), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. c) In view of the Starter's report with regard to ROSE WILLOW, this mare's starting stall certificate has been withdrawn and she is suspended in terms of Rule 61.6.10 for a period of 7 days and until such time as she proves tractable jumping with a companion. Suspension dates: 17 March 2023 to 23 March 2023. ROSE WILLOW may not be presented for re-passing during this period. Trainer J A Visser was advised. d) MIDNIGHT CRYSTAL (*D B Geerthsen), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Stable Employee J Nosassa, acting on behalf of Trainer S G Tarry, advised (MduP). JOCKEY CHANGES: a) PASHASHA was ridden by Jockey M van Rensburg (declared 16 March 2023 at 09H10). b) ROSE WILLOW was ridden by Jockey C Maujean, who weighed out at 52,6kg, 0,5kg over the carded weight (declared 16 March 2023 at 08H40). c) WINNING QUEEN: Apprentice S Sosibo weighed out at 51.2kg, 1kg over the carded weight. Apprentice S Sosibo was charged with a contravention of Rule 55.4 in that he failed to weigh out at the correct carded weight on the horse WINNING QUEEN, or at the higher weight confirmed in his engagement with Trainer E Verdonese.
