THE STARTER REPORTED: a) JUST POWER (E Webber) was stubborn loading. b) DUTCHESSBURNEDETTE (X Ndlovu) was stubborn loading and jumped slow, losing one length. c) SILVERY BLUE (*RA Venniker) and ALASKAN FATE (Y Ramzan) jumped slow, losing one length. d) HAZY CRAZY NIGHT (R Fourie) and ANGEL OF JUSTICE (T Gould) were slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) While leaving the parade ring, Jockey S Khumalo (DUTCHESSBURNEDETTE) was dislodged, injured and was attended to by the paramedics. A replacement rider had to be found for DUTCHESSBURNEDETTE, causing a delay. b) SULTANAH (JP van der Merwe) and JUST POWER (E Webber) raced wide on the bend and into the straight. c) Jockey JP van der Merwe reported that SULTANAH felt uncomfortable in its action and he did not persevere with his riding from the 200m. The veterinary surgeon was requested to examine this mare. d) Jockey W Agrella reported that SILVER SLIPPERS did not stride out freely in running. The veterinary surgeon was requested to examine this filly. e) In view of the performances of ANATURA (*K Strydom) and DUTCHESSBURNEDETTE (X Ndlovu) the veterinary surgeon was requested to examine these mares. f) KAVIAN'S CARA, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer TJ Laing was advised. (LM) g) SILVERY BLUE, the second-placed horse, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer K Mitchley was advised.
