THE STARTER REPORTED: a) DANCETILDAYLIGHT (K de Melo) reared in the stalls. b) MARIGOLD HOTEL (R Fourie) and MIDNIGHT GEM (M Thackeray) jumped inwards leaving the stalls. c) EMERALD PRINCESS (A Mgudlwa) was slow losing one length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Leaving the 200m, ALULA'S STAR (*P Mxoli) and KISS ME CAPTAIN (D De Gouveia) were carried in marginally by COLD FACT (C Zackey), which hung in from the 500m. b) Jockey K de Melo reported that he felt something amiss with DANCETILDAYLIGHT in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. c) Jockey J P van der Merwe reported that PEACH DAIQUIRI did not stride out freely in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. d) ALULA'S STAR (*P Mxoli), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Assistant Trainer N Titise, acting on behalf of Trainer S T Pettigrew, was advised (MduP). JOCKEY CHANGES: a) EMERALD PRINCESS was ridden by Jockey A Mgudlwa (declared 18 March 2023 at 10H29). b) MIDNIGHT GEM was ridden by Jockey M Thackeray (declared 18 March 2023 at 08H02). c) KAYLA'S CHAMP: Jockey G Pieterse weighed out at 53,3kg, 0,5kg over the carded weight.
