THE STARTER REPORTED: a) SAFE SPACE (A Arries) was difficult to load. Assistant Trainer J Buckler acting on behalf of Trainer G S Kotzen was advised to re-school this gelding. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) In view of SAFE SPACE (A Arries) proving difficult proceeding to the start, Assistant Trainer J Buckler acting on behalf of Trainer G S Kotzen was advised that should this gelding prove difficult proceeding to the start in future, it may be suspended. b) REACH FORTHE STARS (S Moodley) over-raced in the early and middle stages, proving difficult to settle. c) SAFE SPACE (A Arries) shifted in away from the crop in the concluding stages. d) In view of the performance of DOIN' TIME (S Veale) (13.25 lengths, 25/2 in the betting), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. e) ADDABAR (M V'Rensburg), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
