THE STARTER REPORTED: a) GIMMEAFIRST (K de Melo) jumped slow, losing one length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) BLACK PATH (K Steyn) proved difficult to settle in the early stages and raced wide on the turn and into the straight. b) At the 300m METAR (L Mxothwa) took an awkward stride when brushed outwards by a tiring BLACK PATH (K Steyn), which rolled out. c) An Inquiry will be held into Jockey S Veale's (BUSY LIZZIE) crop use. d) Jockey R Fourie reported that ZIPPY OVER did not stride out freely in running. The veterinary surgeon was requested to examine this filly. e) RED SASH, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer B Crawford was advised.
