THE STARTER REPORTED: a) During the loading process, SIBERIAN STEEL (C Maujean) broke the front gate open, was examined by the Veterinary Surgeon, passed fit to race and reloaded. b) SUPER AGRA (D De Gouveia) was stubborn loading. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Jockey C Maujean did not persevere with his riding from the 100m. Thereafter, Jockey C Maujean reported that he felt something amiss with SIBERIAN STEEL in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. b) Jockey G Pieterse reported that he felt something amiss with HERECOMESTHERAIN in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. c) GODSWOOD (J P van der Merwe), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer B Botes advised (LK). JOCKEY CHANGES: a) DOUBLE MAGIC: Jockey D Schwarz weighed out at 55,3kg, 1kg over the carded weight. Jockey D Schwarz was charged with a contravention of Rule 55.4 in that he failed to weigh out at the correct carded weight on the horse DOUBLE MAGIC, or at the higher weight confirmed in his engagement with Trainer C J Lensley. Jockey D Schwarz signed an Admission of Guilt and was fined R1000. RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER: None. THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED: a) SIBERIAN STEEL mouth injury. b) HERECOMESTHERAIN examined post race, nothing obvious detected. c) LUCY ENGLISH abnormal respiratory noise. SCRATCHED: a) BIG EYED GIRL coughing (Trainer) (Rule 53.5 applies). DISQUALIFIED / DECLARED NON-RUNNER: None.
