THE STARTER REPORTED: a) PATON'S TEARS (M V'Rensburg) lost 1 length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) At the 100m, AISLING (K Matsunyane) was brushed in by MVULAZANA (A Arries) which rolled in. A race review was called into this incident, which was followed by an objection being lodged by the Rider (K Matsunyane) on behalf of the second placed horse (AISLING) against the winner (MVULAZANA) on the grounds of interference in the concluding stages. After considering the evidence in this matter, the Board overruled the objection. In arriving at this decision, the Board considered the relative manner that the respective horses closed the race off, the extent of the interference and the distance between the two horses at the finish. Therefore it overruled the objection and allowed the Judge's result to stand. Jockey K Matsunyane's deposit was refunded. b) Jockey S Moodley reported that PURPLE NKANYEZI did not stride out freely in the running and as a result he did not persevere with his ride in the concluding stages. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. c) Jockey M Yeni reported that LOVE BOMB did not stride out freely in the concluding stages. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. d) MVULAZANA (A Arries), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer W Whitehead advised (DZ). THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED : a) PURPLE NKANYEZI : Scalp wound left hind. b) LOVE BOMB : Returned post-race having cast the left hind shoe and not striding out right hind.
