THE STARTER REPORTED: a) GRECIA (J Gates) and RED MAGICIAN (T Godden) lost 1 length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) JOSHUA HOTSNAKE (K Matsunyane) stumbled leaving the starting stalls. b) Shortly after the start HOPE IS POWER (*R A Venniker) and GREY OCEAN (A Mgudlwa) came together and brushed. Thereafter HOPE IS POWER (*R A Venniker) and GERONIMO (M Yeni) brushed. c) GREY OCEAN (A Mgudlwa) was hanging in from the 300m. The attempts to straighten this gelding resulted in Jockey A Mgudlwa not being able to fully assist his mount to the end of this race. d) In view of the performance of GERONIMO (M Yeni) (7.75 lengths, 8/1 in the betting), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. e) HOPE IS POWER (*R A Venniker), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
