THE STARTER REPORTED: a) QUEEN OF VERONA (J Greyling) was slow losing two lengths. b) BETULA (D De Gouveia), GOTHIC PRINCESS (N Qaule), KHATEERA (P Strydom) were slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) SPRING IN HEAVEN (M van Rensburg) raced green around the turn. b) DAKOTA CAT (D Schwarz) took an awkward stride leaving the 200m. c) Jockey G Lerena reported that LEONESSA changed stride continually in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. d) Jockey C Zackey reported that he felt something amiss with LOVE SONG in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. e) Jockey S Khumalo reported that SHILPA'S MOON did not stride out freely in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. f) Jockey P Strydom signed an admission of guilt for a contravention of Rule 62.2.3 in that he failed to ride the horse KHATEERA out to the end of the race to the satisfaction of the Stipendiary Stewards. Jockey P Strydom signed an Admission of Guilt and was fined R1000. g) BETULA (D De Gouveia), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
