THE STARTER REPORTED: a) STEALING THE MOON (R Munger) was stubborn loading and jumped slow, losing two lengths. b) BRIDGERTON (JP van der Merwe) was stubborn loading and jumped slow, losing one length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) In view of the performance of STEALING THE MOON (R Munger), which raced green and took a number of awkward strides in the early stages, the veterinary surgeon was requested to examine this colt. b) SINGLE FILE (M Yeni), which initially shifted out marginally and WAZ WOUTER (S Khumalo), which was hanging in and shifted in marginally, raced tight for a number of strides in the concluding stages. c) In view of the performance of BRIDGERTON (JP van der Merwe), Trainer GD Smith will be advised to report back should he find anything amiss with this colt on its return to the stables. d) FAIRY KNIGHT, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
