THE STARTER REPORTED: a) BROADLANDS (K Matsunyane) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) As the start was effected, IDABELLE (*K A Brewer) was brushed out by SECRET RECIPE (S Khumalo), which in turn was brushed out by DUSKY ROSE (D Schwarz), which jumped outwards leaving the stalls. b) SECRET RECIPE (S Khumalo) commenced to give ground to the field from the 200m. Thereafter, Jockey S Khumalo reported this filly did not stride out freely in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. c) Apprentice R A Venniker reported that AUNT PITTYPAT did not stride out freely in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. d) Jockey D Schwarz reported that DUSKY ROSE made an abnormal respiratory noise in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. e) RADU (P Strydom), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
