THE STARTER REPORTED: a) CINNAMON BLUSH (K Matsunyane) was stubborn to load. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) Shortly after the start BRIGHT STAR (M Yeni) was bumped by ALITTLEBITNAUGHTY (J Gates) which jumped in. b) In the concluding stages HUGSANDHIGHFIVES (A Mgudlwa) had to steady when awkwardly placed between IMBEWU (*R A Venniker) which was hanging out, and CINNAMON BLUSH (K Matsunyane). c) Jockey S Moodley reported that ASPOESTERTJIE did not stride out freely in the running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. d) Jockey R Fourie reported that he felt something amiss with SHANTA'S PRIDE in the running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. e) In view of the performance of BRIGHT STAR (8.40 lengths, 20/1 in the betting), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. f) PELARGONIUM (S Khumalo), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
