THE STARTER REPORTED: a) SUMMER OF DREAMS (+S B Mthembu) jumped inwards leaving the stalls. b) ELUSIVE FIRE (+C Mabaya) jumped awkwardly leaving the stalls. c) TREE FAIRY (+S Mkhumbuzi) was slow losing one length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Shortly after the start, PINK DIAMOND (+S Myendeki) was carried in by SUMMER OF DREAMS (+S B Mthembu), which jumped awkwardly inwards leaving the stalls. b) In view of the performance of ELUSIVE FIRE (+C Mabaya), (distance 13,00 lengths, betting 5/1), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. c) Work Rider T Matsoele reported that he felt something amiss with QUEEN'S GAMBIT in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. d) When questioned regarding the improved performance of THREE BELLS, Trainer S M Naidoo explained to the Board that the addition of blinker pacifiers had accounted for this filly's improved run. He has undertaken to race the filly similarly equipped in future. e) TREE FAIRY (+S Mkhumbuzi), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Stable Employee T Mavuka, acting on behalf of Trainer F Bronkhorst, was advised (MduP). f) PINK DIAMOND (+S Myendeki), placed second, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Stable Employee A Ndebe was advised (MS). WORK RIDER CHANGES: None.
