ANUCHKE'S WINGS and ADORABLE ANALIA both lost 1 length. At approximately the 250m, BEAT IT had to ease when awkwardly placed on the outside of BARINOIS which shifted out away from the crop marginally. In reviewing this incident, the Board was of the view that, the reason BEAT IT was in the above position was due to her failing to muster enough speed to clearly establish her position outside BARINOIS. Jockey Moodley signed an admission of guilt for a contravention, read in conjunction with Guideline M, in that he struck the horse ADORABLE ANALIA more than 12 times in the entire race. In deciding what action to take against Jockey Moodley, the Board considered the number of times Jockey Moodley struck the horse ADORABLE ANALIA, the distance over which and the manner in which Jockey Moodley used his crop, and his record in relation to this rule. Accordingly, a penalty of was imposed. Notwithstanding the above penalty, Jockey Moodley was further advised that should he contravene this Rule again in the near future, more severe penalties may be imposed. LIQUID IRISH was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
