THE STARTER REPORTED: a) ETHANATOR (S Khumalo) and ROYAL SUMMONS (C Zackey) jumped inwards leaving the stalls. b) CHIEF WHIP (M Yeni) jumped outwards leaving the stalls. c) BARBARESCO (K de Melo) and ETHANATOR (S Khumalo) were slow losing one length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) BARBARESCO (K de Melo) hung in from the 300m. b) Leaving the 300m, AMPERSAND (G Pieterse) had to steady momentarily when awkwardly placed between EXCHANGE STUDENT (D De Gouveia), which rolled out, and CHIEF WHIP (M Yeni), which shifted in when racing green. c) Jockey D De Gouveia reported that he felt something amiss with EXCHANGE STUDENT in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. d) Jockey M Yeni reported that CHIEF WHIP made an abnormal respiratory noise in running.
