THE STARTER REPORTED: a) HEART OF ETERNITY (R Danielson) was stubborn loading and thereafter jumped inwards leaving the stalls. b) SILVER TUDOR (R Fourie) jumped inwards leaving the stalls. c) QUIXOTE (K de Melo) jumped outwards leaving the stalls. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Jockey K de Melo eased QUIXOTE out of the race at the 200m. Thereafter, Jockey K de Melo reported that he felt something amiss with QUIXOTE and that this gelding made an abnormal respiratory noise in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. Trainer J J van Vuuren was requested to report back to the Stipendiary Board on the condition of QUIXOTE on return to stables b) In view of the performance of POURSOMESUGARONME (R Munger), (distance 9,25 lengths, betting 11/2), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. c) In view of the performance of SIMPLY MAGIC (K Matsunyane), (distance 13,00 lengths, betting 5/1), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. d) In view of the performance of GIMME A DIAMOND (S Khumalo), (distance 13,35 lengths, betting 9/2), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. e) SILVER TUDOR (R Fourie), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
